(male announcer) this is the bay area news station, kron 4 news starts now. >> breaking news tonight out of hayward. a big rig jack-knifed on interstate 8-80. causing a traffic mess. right now, multiple southbound lanes are blocked. near "a" street. i'm pam moore -- kron4's dan kerman is live near the scene. dan what do we know? >> reporter: pam, let me show you the traffic is moving slow. this happened around 2:00 p.m. a tractor trailer with a double trailer jackknifed. let me show you from this video and it hit the guard rail on the right. as a result it hit the number four lanes, the number five lane and spilled 30 gal.-40 gal. of diesel fuel and impacting bushes along the roadside.

and vicki most of us will watch superbowl - 47 on t-v. fan who plans to see the game in person. kron 4's vicki liviakis is here to fill us in on the superbowl. vicki. around, but fans of the 49ers be prepared. the superbowl comes with a super-sized price tag. let's talk numbers. lottery to make only about a thousand tickets available to purchase. if you don't win the lottery and are on the lookout for a secondary market. where as of monday morning the average price for a seat at the superbowl is $3,195 dollars. ka-ching! the cheapest we could find is $1,785 dollars. of course the official list prices according to the nfl are $850, $950, and $1,250 for the superbowl upper and

not nonstop for some are these are non-nonstop. however, expect to spend of $1,000 or more to fly to the game. and if you're thinking about taking a road trip? 2,200 mi. plus. and if you consider that the average targets a 20 mi. per gallon. this round trip gasoline would be $750. not that bad compared to a flight but your point of 60 hours and a car. another option, believe it or not is an amtrak. the ticket would only be about $300 but it is a 78 hours. that is over three days on a train. there is always the greyhound bus $200-$300.

plane to new orleans for the super bowl. let's say you want to leave on saturday febuary 2nd, watch the game on sunday and then come home monday morning. i checked a few online travel sites, and roundtrip flights from sfo to new orleans on those dates are running between 1,275 dollars, which includes multiple stops along the way, up to 1,887 dollar for a direct flight.. round trip. now, of course there's a lot of variation in the price if you're willing to leave earlier in the week or come back later, but expect to pay over a thousand dollars if you want to fly to the game. now, maybe you're the adventurous sort and you're thinking of making it a road trip. it's 2,272 miles from san francisco to new orleans, if you consider that the average car gets about 20 miles per gallon and gas is running an average of 3.30 per gallon right now, a round trip would cost about $750 dollars. not to bad, but expect to spend more than 60 hours driving...

three lanes on southbound 880 were closed today at south a street in hayward after a big rig accident. it was first reported a little after two p.m. that a big rig had jacknifed along southbound 880 in hayward. this is video from earlier today. emergency crews rushed to the scene because the truck began leaking fuel from one of its tankers. traffic was backed up for miles but eventually two of the lanes did reopen. as of right now the far right lane remains closed while crews continue to clean up the fuel spill. >> an inexperienced surfer is rescued after being stranded on a rock near the cliff house restaurant in san francisco. this is video of the rescue from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. the surfer was on a rock where boats weren't able to reach him just before 12 this afternoon. two u.s. coast guard swimmers went into the water to get him and had him picked up by a police boat just before one p-m. officers took the surfer to china beach. no injuries were reported.
